Indiana's 1st Certified Passive House

A Word form Our Client

One of the most enjoyable things about our house is how peaceful it is to be there. The house is so quiet internally, due to its insulation properties, that when you are inside you do not hear the outside world at all. This was a bit surprising to us both, something that we didn't think about until we experienced it.  That, combined with the views of the forest surrounding us, invokes a sense of peace and serenity. The interior of the home, the timbers and color palette, work harmoniously with the views through the windows. When we are inside the house it feels as though we are outside. We are graced with a mirror of nature within the walls of our home.

We are proud to announce that we have successfully built the first certified passive home in Indiana! The home has unique elements that incorporate energy savings into its design. This house faces south to get as much solar energy as possible through the windows. The long vertical windows allow the house to get more sun in the winter, while being shaded as much as possible in the summer. Insulation, seals, triple pane windows, LED lighting and energy efficient appliances are just some of the home’s features. A state-of-the-art ventilator also brings controlled, highly filtered air into the house.
